Content Policy
Content Guidelines
Last updated: September 15, 2026
Profile Content
- Display names must be your real name or established pen name (real identity must be verified behind any pen name)
- Headlines and bios must accurately describe your expertise
- No misleading claims about experience, credentials, or client relationships
- No earnings claims ("I earn $X/month") in any profile content
- Profile photos must be of you (no logos, illustrations, or stock photos)
Writing Samples
- Originality: You must have the right to display the work. This means you wrote it (or co-wrote it) and have permission to showcase it.
- Attribution: Credit the publication or client if applicable
- No plagiarized content: Samples that contain plagiarized material will be removed and may result in account termination
- Content types: Articles, blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, copy, technical documentation, and other professional writing
AI Disclosure
We support writers who use AI tools as part of their workflow. Our AI disclosure system is standardized and voluntary-honest:
- No AI: The sample was written entirely without AI assistance
- AI-Assisted: AI tools were used for research, outlining, editing, or enhancement, but the core writing is yours
- AI-Collaborative: Significant portions were generated with AI and edited/refined by you
- Undisclosed: You choose not to disclose (this is acceptable)
Important: Misdeclaring AI usage is a violation of these guidelines. Declaring AI use is never penalized — only dishonest disclosure is.
Testimonials
- Testimonials are submitted by clients via a magic link sent to their email
- All testimonials are moderated before publication
- Fabricated testimonials will result in account termination
- Testimonials must reflect genuine working relationships
Prohibited Content
- Hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content
- Sexually explicit or violent content
- Content promoting illegal activities
- Spam or promotional content unrelated to writing services
- Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
Violations
Violations are handled according to our Moderation Guidelines, which include a transparent strike system and appeals process.
