How we handle copyright infringement notices, counter-notices, and repeat infringers.

Intellectual Property

WritingZap respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Filing a DMCA Notice

If you believe that content on WritingZap infringes your copyright, please send a written notice containing:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  • Identification of the infringing material and information sufficient to locate it on our platform
  • Your contact information (address, phone, email)
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner

Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notice containing:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the removed material and its prior location
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address, phone number, and consent to jurisdiction

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, we will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright.
