Review & Moderation Guidelines

Transparency in moderation is a core value. This page explains exactly how our review process works.

Last updated: September 15, 2026

The Review Pipeline

1. Writer Profile Verification

  • New profiles enter a review queue upon submission

  • SLA: within 24 business hours
  • Result: Verified, or Rejected with reason

2. Writing Sample Review

  • Every sample is reviewed before it appears on your public profile
  • Moderators check: originality, rights to display, content guidelines compliance, AI disclosure accuracy
  • SLA: within 24 business hours
  • Result: Published, or Rejected with specific reason

3. Job Listing Review

  • Every job is reviewed before publication
  • Moderators check: pay meets floor requirements, legitimate employer, no scam indicators, clear role description
  • SLA: within 24 business hours
  • Result: Published (30-day listing), or Rejected with reason and refund

What Moderators Check

  • Identity verification accuracy
  • Content guideline compliance
  • AI disclosure honesty (spot-checks)
  • Job posting quality (pay floor, legitimacy, no scam patterns)
  • Testimonial authenticity
  • Community guideline compliance

Spot Checks

Published content may be spot-checked at any time for continued compliance. This includes AI disclosure verification using industry-standard detection tools (used as one signal among many, not as sole arbiter).

Strike System

  • First violation: Warning with explanation and opportunity to correct
  • Second violation: Content removed, 7-day restriction on new submissions
  • Third violation: Account suspension (30 days) with review
  • Severe violations (fraud, identity fabrication, plagiarism): Immediate account termination

Appeals Process

  • You may appeal any moderation decision within 14 days
  • Appeals are reviewed by a second moderator who was not involved in the original decision
  • Appeal decisions are communicated within 5 business days
  • Contact [email protected] to file an appeal
